Our Arrival: Late Check-In and Pub Reservation
Our stay was inspired by our son’s rugby fixture against a local club (read our blog here) so we turned the trip into a weekend break in the Lake District. After a quick search on Booking.com, we landed a fantastic deal: a family room for four with breakfast for just £125
Despite arriving late at around 8pm. we were warmly welcomed and checked in swiftly. As we knew that we would be arriving late, we'd pre-booked a table at the hotel’s restaurant, where we joined friends and settled into what would become one of the weekend’s highlights.
Dining at The Kellbank: Comfort Food That Deliver
The hotel restaurant served up some truly incredible, top-quality pub food with generous portions. I went for the steak and ale pie, which was full of flavour and lots of steak and the boys devoured their burgers.
After our fantastic meal, the grown-ups chatted over drinks in the bar, enjoying great company and sports on the big screen, while the boys disappeared into the hotel's games room for a round of pool. A perfect evening wrapped in laughter, great food, and a few pints.

Our family room at The Kellbank featured a smart TV, coffee-making facilities, and décor that blended countryside charm with contemporary touches. The next morning, the breakfast didn’t disappoint, with a great breakfast menu, we all opted for the classic full English, which hit the spot before heading off to the rugby pitch

The Kellbank delivers excellent value for money in a region where prices can often climb, especially during peak season. The staff are friendly and helpful, the hotel has a relaxed vibe, and it is in a great location.
