A St. Patrick’s Day Experience That Left Us Green for All the Wrong Reasons

If you’re searching for a family-friendly restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip that delivers on flavour, fun, and flair—Sugar Factory Las Vegas might catch your eye with its vibrant branding and over-the-top desserts. But our recent visit during a St. Patrick’s Day influencer event left us with more disappointment than delight

An exciting invitation

We were invited to dine at Sugar Factory to sample their menu and share our experience on our travel and lifestyle blog. The preview menu we received was fun and exciting, setting high expectations for a fun-filled evening. But from the moment we arrived, things took a turn.

We arrived at 6.30pm and after giving our names we were asked to wait a while, we were then directed to lift which took us the top floor of the restaurant.  As the doors opened we noticed that the room was lavishly decorated in green for St Patricks day. It turned out that we were attending an influencer event to showcase their St Patricks day menu and we hadn't been told about it.

A Theme Too Far

We were shown to our table and immediately felt a little out of place as everyone there was dressed along with the green theme.  Our waitress brought over the menus, which were completely different to the ones we had been sent and very very green.  I'm talking green burger buns, green beer and green milkshakes.

Drinks: Style Over Substance

First came the drinks, cocktails for us adults and milkshake for the kids.  Our cocktails arrived in novelty Irish themed drinking vessels, a leprechaun and a green wellington boot, which were fun to look at but lacked flavour.  The kids’ milkshakes however were visually impressive, adorned with sprinkles, sweets, and lollipops, these were a hit with the boys.

Food: A Major Letdown

We each ordered something different from the menu, hoping to share and sample each others, but unfortunately, none delivered.  The boys’ burgers were among the worst we’ve ever tried, very bland and oddly textured.  The sliders that Louie had were even worse served on rock-hard green buns.  The shepherd’s pie was passable  and the portion was small but that it ended up being shared by four of us simply because the rest of the food was inedible.

Service & Atmosphere: Disconnected and Disappointing

Despite the event setting, service was slow and unattentive.  We were left sitting with our finished plates for far too long despite making it clear that we were finished but the influencers attending the event were obviously more important.  By the time our server came to take the plates, we were disappointed to hear that some deserts that we fancied were no longer available.  We finally ordered the cookie dough and rainbow cake to share and unfortunately both were underwhelming.  The cookie dough was cold and chewy and while the rainbow cake was visually striking, it was dry and oddly textured.

Final Thoughts: Not Worth the Hype

We left Sugar Factory feeling disappointed and disheartened.  The food, drinks, and service all missed the mark, and we couldn’t help but regret spending our evening here when Las Vegas offers so many incredible dining options.  If you’re planning where to eat in Las Vegas, we recommend exploring the many fantastic restaurants both on and off the Strip. Sadly, Sugar Factory Las Vegas isn’t one we’d return to or suggest to others.
